Hodina Kitchen 5

Columbia Waterfront 2BR

In collaboration with the design team, Ecostruct transformed a “cookie-cutter” mid 80’s apartment into a contemporary light filled oasis, built to suit both entertaining and work-from-home needs. Clearing many of the existing partitions and creating an open format living/kitchen/dining area, helped carry the natural light through the home toward the bedrooms, illuminating many of the previously obscured areas. This also freed up some additional space to build in a custom wall-mounted desk and storage area to ensure a fully operational home office setup.

The stark black of the Paperstone backsplash and countertops in the kitchen contrasted by the white lacquer and wood grain millworking, imbue a subtle marriage between modern and traditional resulting in a pleasing and functional environment to prepare and entertain.

Working with larger format white field tile in the bathroom, coupled with a custom gray floating vanity and concrete sink by Trueform, we were able to turn a previously dark and claustrophobic space into something much more airy and comfortable. The iridescent blue Fireclay field tile at the broad shower accent wall, helped us cut the sterility of the bathroom and add a little playfulness.
